Happy Father's Day, I miss you. It's only been a couple of years but it feels like yesterday. I still find myself reaching for the phone to call you and tell you some exciting news, or just to catch you up on whats been going on with the kids and grand-kids. Even to ask your advice on a plant or what to do when somethings not working.
I still feel guilty for not caring for you the last years of your life. You were so many miles away when you should have been right here. I should have insisted that you live with me.
I'm glad you're with Mom now. I know you never got over her and nothing was ever quite the same. She's taking care of you now like she always did.
The ocean reminds me of you. You always lived by the sea and gave me my love of it. Now I don't bother to go anymore.
I miss it and I miss you.
So many things remind me of you. So many things I need your advice about. So many stories I want to tell you.
Happy Father's Day, Daddy
I love you,
Patti
Always ready to make breakfast. You loved to make us pancakes on the cast iron griddle. They were the best!
Going to see old friends and favorite places.
I'm glad I could see you one last time and say good-bye.
What a wonderful tribute to your father, Patti...just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI want to thank you for stopping by and becoming a follower of my blog...I, sincerely, appreciate it....and I will do the same.
